About Me

Finance. Accounting. Business Operations Leader – Portland, OR

I manage the business of the business – ensure people are doing the right things right; develop and refine strategy; execute through process design and scope clarity; work the levers to generate and manage cash for smart business growth. I do this by drawing upon my knowledge and experience in finance & accounting, business operations, and HR to improve performance across disciplines and implement company and team objectives. This ability to span functions allows me to chart a course for effective action, fully understanding the infrastructure, financial, and people impacts of decisions. Success across these areas requires more than a high motor – I work to balance operational savvy and financial acumen with leadership skills and an employee engagement mindset. I enjoy empowering teams and optimizing process and organizational structures while running the nuts and bolts of a business, a business unit, or a business function day to day. For me, there is no better professional reward than creating an environment where people feel they belong, they perform to business targets, and they want to do it at pace. I can hold the standard, I don’t shortcut, and I don’t believe in burning out team members.

Building on my learning is a life-long journey. My BS in Finance-Law, my MBA, coursework and research in Change Leadership and Business Process Improvement, and CMA (Certified Management Accountant) successful completion: Budget Prep, Cost Management, Information Management, Performance Measurement and External Financial Reporting are all essential components of my search for professional development and growth. This knowledge base allows me to identify the key issues, ask the right questions, and create the processes and framework that scale.
